Winter willows
There are many willow trees here in northern Utah. They are abundant in the low lying irrigated ranchland where I live. I love painting them at all season, and this one caught my eye at the end of autumn as the first snow was arriving. The branches in winter have a rosy golden glow and looks beautiful next to the blue and purple of the mountains. this was painted en plein air on a cloudy chilly day in October, with moving misty clouds.
