When Life Hands You Lemons
This is my Challenge painting for Daily Paintworks this month. We were to paint something in the citrus family and I chose lemons. Yellow is a difficult color to control. It is not very opaque so if there is a dark color underneath it shows through. It is also hard to get a dark value with yellow, so many times it must be darkened by the color that is reflected on it or near it. I had fun with this one and remembered the old saying about lemons for the title.
