I found this sturdy cedar tree, old and craggy, on a recent hike in my neighborhood and knew I would come back and paint it. It sits perched on a little hill where it commands a view of the hills and valleys below it. This area is greening up fast with all the rain we've had, so it was a challenge to be using so many shades of green in one painting. This work is painted on gessoboard with a black underpainting. ENJOY!!
